It’s time to Occupy Denver !
Have you ever linked arms with a stranger?
Have you ever taken all that bottled up frustration — political, social, economic — and let it out?
Have you ever lept through the streets, hooting and hollering, making a ruckus, not caring what they think?
Take back the streets, We say, Take back your lives.
Because we are doing this for a change. The change within you is the change within me.
The change within us IS the change of the nation.
We chanted, “Whose streets? Our streets!” “We are the 99%” “You are the 99%”
Take back your voice, We say, Take back your lives.
Make them listen.
Occupy Denver Fall 2012. We operated in the heat of the movement. It was organized chaos. We paraded, petitioned and picketed right up until we met the plastic shields of the riot police. We gave them flowers and hugs, we danced before them. We communed with our neighbors, we fed strangers. We chalked the side walks and painted our faces. We chanted, ran, and screamed. And, yes, we ruined your dinner if you were dining al fresco at the Denver Hard Rock Cafe on October 23, 2012. And, yes, we ruined your business commute home to the suburbs on October 23, 2012. Sorry I’m not sorry.
❤ Occupy Together ❤ was our lifeblood while we lived in Denver. We went to the Civic Center Park (Denver Occupy Headquarters) as much as possible to show solidarity and participate in this political shift in consciousness. I am so proud of this grassroots, all-inclusive movement and am proud to give it a large piece of my heart ❤ Occupy Forever ❤
